Da er kalkun et perfekt alternativ. Tilbeh\u00f8ret kan du lage kvelden i forveien, s\u00e5 kan du kose deg med gjestene mens kalkunen steker seg selv i ovnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Nancy Sandm\u00e6l vokste opp i California, men har bodd i Norge i mer enn 40 \u00e5r. Kalkuntradisjonene har hun tatt med seg fra hjemlandet USA, hvor kalkun er et fast innslag p\u00e5 middagsbordet til Thanksgiving og i julen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Mange synes det er vanskelig \u00e5 helsteke kalkun, p\u00e5 grunn av det lave fettinnholdet kan den nemlig fort bli t\u00f8rr om den st\u00e5r for lenge p\u00e5 h\u00f8y temperatur i ovnen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u2013 N\u00e5r man kj\u00f8per kalkun f\u00f8lger det som regel med n\u00f8yaktige stekeanvisninger. Hvis du f\u00f8lger dem vil du f\u00e5 et godt resultat. Man f\u00e5r kj\u00f8pt poser med ferdig amerikansk traneb\u00e6rsaus i Norge. Hvis du ikke f\u00e5r tak i det kan du fint erstatte traneb\u00e6r med tytteb\u00e6r. Tilsett litt appelsinjuice og revet appelsinskall i sausen for \u00e5 gi den en frisk og syrlig smak, sier Sandm\u00e6l.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mills.no\/oppskrift\/mills\/waldorfsalat\/\">Waldorfsalat<\/a> er et annet fast innslag p\u00e5 amerikanske middagsbord sammen med julekalkunen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u2013 Waldorfsalaten h\u00f8rer absolutt med! Bruk majones som basis for dressingen, og spe p\u00e5 med litt eplejuice og sitronsaft. Ha i for eksempel epler i biter, grovhakkede dadler og valn\u00f8tter og kanskje litt finhakket stangselleri, s\u00e5 f\u00e5r du et friskt og deilig tilbeh\u00f8r til kalkunen, sier Sandm\u00e6l.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">For Nancy er ogs\u00e5 s\u00f8tpotetmos, maissuffl\u00e9 og gr\u00f8nne b\u00f8nner med ristede mandelflak selvsagt tilbeh\u00f8r til kalkunen. Men hun understreker at tilbeh\u00f8ret varierer fra familie til familie i USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u2013 Noen foretrekker tilbeh\u00f8r basert p\u00e5 ulike frukter, som ogs\u00e5 passer godt til kalkun. Den ser kanskje ikke s\u00e5 innbydende ut, men den m\u00e5 du for all del ikke kaste. Den kan du nemlig bruke som basis for nydelig saus eller stuffing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u2013 Stuffing lager du ved \u00e5 t\u00f8rke br\u00f8dbiter uten skorpe p\u00e5 lav varme i ovnen slik at de blir knuskt\u00f8rre. Finhakk l\u00f8k og stangselleri og surr det i margarin med salvie og timian. Bland dette med finhakket, kokt innmat fra kalkun og de t\u00f8rre br\u00f8dbitene. Du kan bruke kraften fra innmaten b\u00e5de til \u00e5 lage saus og i stuffingen slik at den er litt fuktig.
