Kolesterolets hovedoppgave er \u00e5 frakte fett fra blodet og ut til cellene \u2013 hvor det kan bli nyttiggjort som energi.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Kolesterol er ogs\u00e5 en viktig byggestein i alle cellevegger. Det er i tillegg utgangspunkt for dannelse av hormoner, vitamin D og gallesyrer. Vi trenger alts\u00e5 noe kolesterol.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" ><strong>Hvordan f\u00e5r kroppen kolesterol?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Kroppen produserer cirka 1-2 g kolesterol i d\u00f8gnet. Dette skjer f\u00f8rst og fremst i lever og tarm. Dette er fordi det f\u00f8rer til avleiringer p\u00e5 innsiden av blod\u00e5rene, noe som \u00f8ker risikoen for at blod\u00e5rene blir tettere, s\u00e5kalt \u00e5reforkalkning.<\/li> <li>HDL blir gjerne kalt &laquo;det gode kolesterolet&raquo;. Dette er fordi det frakter fettstoffer tilbake til leveren hvor det skilles ut som galle. Det er alts\u00e5 positivt \u00e5 ha et h\u00f8yt niv\u00e5 av HDL-kolesterol, fordi det virker beskyttende mot hjerte- og karsykdom.<\/li> <\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\t\t<div class=\"has-background has-neutral-0-background-color is-style-vertical-spacing alignwide wp-block-mills-section has-background has-neutral-0-background-color\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-mills-section__inner aligncenter\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" >Hvilke faktorer i kostholdet kan f\u00f8re til \u00f8kt kolesterol?<\/h2>\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Kroppen produserer alts\u00e5 mesteparten av kolesterolet selv, cirka 80 prosent. Hva slags fett du spiser p\u00e5virker kolesterolniv\u00e5et i blodet. Mettet fett \u00f8ker LDL-kolesterolet, mens umettet fett, og i st\u00f8rst grad flerumettet fett, reduserer LDL- kolesterolet. Ulike helseunders\u00f8kelser i Norge viser andelen av nordmenn med kolesterol over anbefalt niv\u00e5 i ulike aldersgrupper. Helseunders\u00f8kelsen i Nord Tr\u00f8ndelag (2006-2008) visste f.eks. at 74% av menn (40-49 \u00e5r) og 63% av kvinner (40-49 \u00e5r) har h\u00f8yt kolesterol &gt; 5 mmol\/L.<\/p>\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">N\u00e5r du m\u00e5ler kolesterolet hos legen f\u00e5r du oppgitt dette som totalkolesterol, som er summen av alle typene kolesterol. Det er viktig \u00e5 vite verdiene dine av b\u00e5de totalkolesterol, LDL og HDL.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" >Anbefalte verdier for kolesterol:<\/h3>\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Totalkolesterol: 5 mmol\/l eller mindre<br \/> LDL-kolesterol: 3 mmol\/l eller mindre<br \/> HDL kolesterol: 1 mmol\/ eller mer for menn og 1,3 mmol\/l for kvinner<\/p>\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">H\u00f8yt kolesterol sammen h\u00f8yt blodtrykk, tobakk og diabetes er de viktigste p\u00e5virkelige risikofaktorene til hjerte- og karsykdommer. Hvorfor er h\u00f8ye kolesterolverdier ugunstig?<\/h3>\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">H\u00f8yt kolesterolniv\u00e5 i blodet er en av de viktigste risikofaktorene til avleiring av fett i blod\u00e5reveggen, som igjen \u00f8ker risikoen for hjerte- og karsykdommer. Hvor h\u00f8yt kolesterolet er avhenger b\u00e5de av gener, arv og maten vi spiser.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" >2. Hva er symptomene?<\/h3>\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Du f\u00e5r ingen symptomer p\u00e5 at kolesterolet ditt er h\u00f8yt. Det regnes heller ikke som en sykdom i seg selv. Det er derfor viktig \u00e5 sjekke kolesterolet n\u00e5r du er hos legen, slik at du vet om det er innenfor det anbefalte verdiomr\u00e5det. Ved \u00e5 vite din verdi f\u00e5r du en pekepinn p\u00e5 om du trenger \u00e5 gj\u00f8re tiltak innen en eller flere av de omr\u00e5dene som kan bedre kolesterolniv\u00e5ene kosthold, fysisk aktivitet eller tobakkstopp.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" >3. Hvem b\u00f8r sjekke kolesterolet sitt?<\/h3>\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Alle som \u00f8nsker \u00e5 m\u00e5le sitt kolesterol b\u00f8r f\u00e5 mulighet til \u00e5 gj\u00f8re dette. Personer over 40 \u00e5r som ikke kjenner sine kolesterolverdier b\u00f8r vurdere \u00e5 m\u00e5le det. I tillegg skal fastlegen gjennomf\u00f8re kolesterolm\u00e5ling som en del av risikovurdering dersom det er behov.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" >4. Hvordan sjekker man kolesterolet sitt?<\/h3>\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Kolesterolverdiene kan du m\u00e5le hos fastlegen din. Det aller beste er \u00e5 ta en fastende blodpr\u00f8ve. Flere apotek tilbyr ogs\u00e5 kolesterolm\u00e5linger. De gir deg et godt svar p\u00e5 din kolesterolverdi og kan gi deg svar p\u00e5 om du b\u00f8r gj\u00f8re endringer i kostholdet ditt.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" >Oppsummert:<\/h2>\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Kolesterol er et stoff kroppen v\u00e5r produserer selv, og som vi er avhengig av for at fett fra maten vi spiser skal fraktes rundt i kroppen og ut i leveren.
